PT – Physical Training

For those seeking some *friendly* wingman competition, this one’s for you: Run, bike, or climb your way to the top of the Det 365 Strava Leaderboard to show off your Airpower (find the current standings below)! 

PT VERBIAGE AND PROCEDURES

  1. Vertically space flight
    • Flt/CC: “Open Ranks, MARCH”
    • Flight: 1st element: 2 steps forward; 2nd element, take 1 step forward, 3rd element: stay where you are; ALL ELEMENTS: Dress right, DRESS
    • Flt/CC: Ready, FRONT (pronounced Red up, HUNT)
  2. Horizontally Space Flight
    • Flt/CC: “At double-arm intervals, dress right, DRESS”
    • Flight: “AHHHH” (DET-ISM) while popping both arms and spacing yourselves to your right and left
    • Flt/CC: Ready, FRONT (pronounced Red up, HUNT)
  3. Positioning for Stretches
    • Flt/CC: “Half Right (Left), FACE”
    • Flight: perform movement
  4. Calling Stretches
    • Flt/CC: “The next exercise of the day will be the (insert exercise: toe touch, quad stretch, butterfly stretch, etc.). This is a (insert count, usually 10 for stretches) count exercise. We will perform (insert repetitions, usually 2 for stretches) repetitions. Position of the exercise, MOVE”
    • Flight: move to the position of exercise (may vary based on FTM)
    • Flt/CC: “Ready, BEGIN. 1, 2, ….. 10 “
    • Flight: “1!”
    • Flt/CC: “Switch. Ready, BEGIN. 1, 2, ….. 10”
    • Flight: “2!”
    • Flt/CC: “RECOVER”
    • Flight: “AIRPOWER”
  5. Repeat for all exercises
  6. Position flight to fall out
    • “Flt/CC: Half left (right), FACE”
    • Flight: perform movement
  7. Horizontally Compress Flight
    • Flt/CC: “Dress right, DRESS”
    • Flight: perform movement
    • Flt/CC: Ready, FRONT (pronounced Red up, HUNT)
  8. Vertically Compress Flight
    • Flt/CC: “Close Ranks, MARCH”
    • Flight: 1st element: stay where you are, 2nd element: 1 step forward, 3rd element: 2 steps forward
    • Flt/CC: “FALL OUT”
  • NOTES
    • Verbiage for timed exercise: “The next exercise of the day will be a (insert # minutes, 2 is usually good) minute personal stretch (or another timed exercise). Position the exercise at your own discretion. Position of the exercise, MOVE. Ready, BEGIN” (Flight ONLY moves after “BEGIN”)
    • Standby/ Recover: Flight may only stop performing current exercise when Flt/CC either says STANDBY or RECOVER
